On a beautiful day in Lakeside, Habitat was joined by San Diego County Supervisor Dianne Jacob; Captain Gerral David, Chief of Staff, Navy Region Southwest; Dennis Briscoe, Founder of San Diego Habitat; and the USMC Miramar Color Guard to break ground on its first “Building for the Brave” community. This project will provide four townhomes for affordable homeownership to disabled veterans and their families and will be outfitted with state of the art finishings adapted to the special needs of the veteran. This community is made possible by the generous support of the County of San Diego, The Home Depot Foundation, TD Ameritrade, SAIC, and Cox Communications.
