Through shelter, we empower.
People in our community and all over the world partner with Habitat for Humanity to build or improve a place they can call home.
Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage. With our help, Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
Our Mission
Seeking to put God’s love into action, San Diego Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope.
Our Vision
A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
San Diego Habitat is the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International and serves the County of San Diego. It is an autonomous, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It is governed locally, raises funds locally, and builds locally.
No matter who we are or where we come from, we all deserve a decent place to call home.

Self-reliance
Our core values and guiding principles — inclusion, housing equity, dignity for all, and sustainability — shepherd our work. We take very seriously our purpose and our place in an ever-evolving community. This leads us to regularly reflect, evaluate, and progress internally as an organization working to be an innovator in the future of housing in San Diego.
