Playhouses provide a secret world where kids can foster their development, leadership, and creativity.

Playhouses are built by sponsoring volunteer groups and are offered, at no cost, to Habitat homeowners and to the children of local veterans and active duty personnel. San Diego Habitat also partners with local organizations to distribute playhouses to children throughout San Diego County.

The funds raised through sponsorships support Habitat’s mission of building real homes, communities, and hope.

HOW IT WORKS

Playhouses are built with love by local volunteers.

Playhouses are built throughout the year. After being assembled and decorated, playhouses are gifted to families, nonprofits, children’s centers in the San Diego community, or the Habitat ReStores.

Qualifications

We serve families in San Diego County who earn , and we are a proud supporter of our military and veteran families.

Availability

Playhouses are first-come, first-served. If you do not come to pick up your playhouse, it will be given to another recipient and you will have the opportunity to come pick up a different playhouse at a later date.

Pickup

When Habitat has sponsored playhouse builds, you will be contacted with a date, time, and location to pick up the playhouse. San Diego Habitat is unable to deliver the playhouse to you.

Transportation

You must provide a pickup truck or box truck that can fit a fully assembled wooden playhouse sized 4′ long x 5′ wide x 6′ high. The playhouse is very difficult to disassemble and will not fit through standard doorways.
