Every home repair project in our neighborhood revitalization program is managed by a dedicated construction superintendent. This role is a bit different from that of a new construction superintendent, as they spend a lot of time with the homeowner and get to know the families we work with on a very personal level.
During the initial home assessment, the superintendent will examine the main repair concerns of the homeowner while applying their expertise and inspecting the entire home in pursuit of providing a holistic approach to the renovations. This ensures that the homeowners concerns are addressed, as well as potential health and safety issues they may not have even been aware of.
Though we may not be able to address every issue in a home, Habitat’s superintendents will always provide a comprehensive analysis of the structural integrity of a home and will prioritize health and safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency projects in order to improve the quality of life of homeowners through home repairs.
The pandemic has slowed our work down a bit, but we are currently wrapping up some repair projects and planning for our next round of funding. If you are interested in getting more information about the application process, please contact Gabriel Nicdao.
