San Diego Habitat for Humanity Awarded $33,500 Grant from Lowe’s
Funding to support critical home repairs for families across San Diego County
San Diego, CA — San Diego Habitat for Humanity is proud to announce it has received a generous $33,500 grant from Lowe’s to support critical home repair projects at four homes across San Diego County. This funding will enable essential renovations that enhance safety, accessibility, and security, empowering homeowners to age in place with dignity and comfort.
With Lowe’s support, San Diego Habitat will make life-changing repairs for four local families, including transforming bathrooms for ADA accessibility, installing handrails and grab bars, replacing worn siding, repainting homes, clearing debris, upgrading to drought-tolerant landscaping, and renewing fencing. These meaningful improvements not only address urgent needs but also offer families a renewed sense of stability and peace of mind.
“This significant investment from Lowe’s enables us to carry out essential repairs that transform houses into safe, enduring homes for families,” said Kwofi Reed CEO of San Diego Habitat for Humanity. “Together, we are not only enhancing homes but also uplifting lives and reinforcing our shared commitment to building stronger, healthier communities.”
The grant is part of Lowe’s ongoing commitment to Habitat for Humanity International, with a two-year, $6 million investment dedicated to home repair and preservation efforts in owner-occupied homes. This year, Lowe’s is partnering with 110 Habitat affiliates across the United States, supporting 295 projects and positively impacting nearly 700 families. Since the beginning of this partnership in 2003, Lowe’s and Habitat have worked together to transform the lives of more than 18,000 people, giving them a safe and welcoming place to call home.
