We recently received a $90,000 grant from San Diego Foundation (SDF) to help the six families in our recently completed National City community purchase their forever homes. The grant is from the San Diego Black Homebuyers Program and was awarded to Habitat as an organization that exemplifies SDF’s Strategic Plan Pillars of “Advancing Racial and Social Justice”, “Fostering Equity of Opportunity”, and “Building Resilient Communities”. San Diego Foundation recognized our commitment to providing opportunities to People of Color and increasing generational wealth through homeownership, and were moved to partner with us on our mission.
