For the past two years, San Diego Habitat has been working alongside hundreds of Habitat for Humanity organizations, volunteers, and community members across the country to help ensure that 10 million people living in the U.S. can afford the cost of home.
That includes working with you to advocate for more affordable homes. Over the last year, COVID-19 has deepend a pre-existing housing crisis and has highlighted inequities in housing stability demonstrating how individuals are just one paycheck loss or added healthcare bill away from losing their home. While we celebrate the progress we’ve made together in this campaign, we recognize that accessing an affordable home remains a significant challenge for many people in our region.
As we rebuild as a nation from the pandemic, Congress is setting its sights on an economic recovery and infrastructure package. We have a significant opportunity to ensure housing investments are included. With this in mind, we ask that you please raise your voice for housing affordability today. Email your federal policy makers and urge them to include housing investments in an economic and infrastructure recovery package.
Together, we can make the cost of home something we can all afford.
