Everyone has been affected by the global public health crisis and the accompanying economic shocks of COVID-19. This is an unprecedented moment where every one of us has been forced to deeply consider the fundamental importance of home — of having safe, decent and affordable shelter.
Many of us are also reflecting on social justice issues and racial inequities in our country. We are engaging in conversations to understand these challenges better and to devise collective and individual actions we can take to break the cycles of systemic racism that have contributed to unfair disadvantages of People of Color in our country.
In an effort to bring people together in these dialogues, Habitat for Humanity International is tackling some important issues through a new webinar series, called +You. The first installment, a conversation about the intersection of housing and healthcare, is titled “Housing is the Prescription We Need”, and you can watch the engaging conversation here.
