We did it! Thanks to every affordable housing advocate who raised their voice over the last few months, $350 million has been allocated to CalHome in the state budget over the next two years! Governor Newsom and the California legislature heard our concerns and heeded our urgent request. Seizing on a historic opportunity, they have dedicated significant funding to fund CalHome, the foundation for affordable home ownership production in California. An investment of $250 million this year, and $100 million next year ensures non-profit developers can build affordable homes for working families to OWN, delivering increased stability, equity, and economic security.
