10th/Donax | Imperial Beach
About the community:
Imperial Beach is the most southwesterly city in the continental United States. Just five miles north of the Mexico border, it is only 4.2 square miles and includes a 4-mile stretch of beach offering a host of activities including great surfing. The city regularly lands on Farmer’s Almanac’s Best Weather lists, boasting an average of 323 mostly or partly sunny days every year.
An ethnically and economically diverse community, the city has undergone a major revitalization effort in recent years, but has retained its cultural heritage and unique character. Habitat has contributed to this effort through our Neighborhood Revitalization program, where we provided home preservation and repair services to existing homeowners in the areas surrounding our new construction sites here and on Florida Street from 2012 to 2014.
