On May 10, we broke ground on our newest Habitat community on El Norte Parkway in Escondido.
These ten 1,300 square foot, 3-bedroom/2.5-bathroom duplex-style homes will feature attached 2-car garages, private yards, drought-tolerant landscaping, and energy efficient appliances and plumbing fixtures.
The houses will be sold to local families earning between 50% and 80% of the Area Median Income, or about $85,000 for a family of four. These future homeowners commit to help build their own homes, and the homes of their neighbors, as part of their partnership with Habitat for Humanity. Their mortgages will be no more than 30% of their gross monthly household income.
Completion is expected by November, 2023.
